to all your questions.
(Well, not all of them. We can’t figure out #4 on that ECON final either.)
Alight is a privately owned and professionally managed community. Click here for more information about the management and ownership.
You can select your roommate(s), or you can apply on your own and we can match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.
Instead of requiring all roommates to sign a joint lease, each person at Alight has their own individual contract, with one person per bedroom. This means you are only responsible for paying for yourself — not your roommates. Even if a roommate moves out or other bedrooms in your apartment are empty, you only pay the rate for your bedroom.
Each resident at Alight pays a flat rate that includes:
A full set of furniture
Wi-fi throughout the community, plus plug-in Internet in each bedroom
Cable TV service
Water/sewer, trash removal
Washer and dryer in each apartment
24-hour on-site management
Community features — pool, fitness center, etc.
The spacious accommodations at Alight range from two bedrooms to four bedrooms.

Yes. Residents can pay online 24 hours per day, by credit card or ACH electronic checking. Alight also offers automatic payment by either credit card or checking account — just fill out one page, one time and payments will be made automatically. Convenience fees apply for credit card and debit card payments.
Your living costs at Alight can be covered by financial aid, just like on-campus housing. Any available financial aid funds, after university charges are satisfied, are released to the student for non-institutional expenses, such as off-campus housing. These funds can be used to pay charges at Alight. Normal payment deadlines will continue to apply.
Nearly all the residents at Alight are students at LSU and the per-person contracts are also designed with students in mind. Nonetheless, Alight is an Equal Opportunity housing provider and welcomes applications from non-students. Family members are welcome as well, subject to occupancy limits. Because of the need to match student roommates, non-students must apply together with enough roommates to fill the desired apartment.
Alight has monitored fire sprinklers, secure building entry, deadbolts on each front door and individually locking bedroom doors. Community courtesy patrols are provided at select times, plus security cameras are located in certain areas. Management staff are also on-site 24×7 and can be reached by a 24-hour phone number.
Alight is pet-friendly in select apartments, with required registration, deposit and fee, and subject to limits on animals and breed. The community is smoke-free in all indoor areas. Guests are welcome at all times, subject to the consent of apartment-mates and security considerations. Overnight guests are welcome, with limits on the number of days and guests.
Alight offers free surface parking for residents; space is limited.
Alight is just a half-mile from the LSU campus. Walk the short distance in 10 minutes or bike it in less. On rainy days, the Tiger Trails bus stop is just a block away and LSU students ride free.
